Frequently Asked Questions

Order Processing & Shipping Times

How long does it take to make my order?

All Runaway Rosy jewellery is handmade to order in my Melbourne studio. Please allow 5–7 business days for me to make and prepare your jewellery before shipping.

During busy periods, such as Mother's Day and Christmas, processing times may be longer. I'll keep any updated timeframes on the website so you know what to expect before ordering.

Do you accept rush orders?

If you need your jewellery by a particular date, please email me at hello@runawayrosy.com.au before placing your order.

I'll let you know whether I can accommodate your timeframe. As each piece is handmade to order, rush requests depend on my current workload and material availability.

Please note that choosing Express Post at checkout does not automatically prioritise the making of your jewellery.

How long does delivery take?

Once your jewellery has been made and dispatched, Australia Post's estimated delivery times are:

  • Standard Post: 5–10 business days

  • Express Post: 1–4 business days

International delivery generally takes approximately 1–5 weeks, depending on the shipping service, destination and customs processing.

These estimates are separate from my 5–7 business day production time.

You'll receive a tracking number by email once your order has been dispatched.

For more information, please see our Shipping Policy.

Warranty & Returns

Do you offer a warranty on your jewellery?

All Runaway Rosy jewellery comes with consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law.

If your jewellery arrives faulty or develops a problem that you believe may be a manufacturing fault, please email me at hello@runawayrosy.com.au with your order number and a photograph of the issue.

I'll assess the problem and help arrange an appropriate repair, replacement or refund in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

There is no blanket 30-day limit on your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Please contact me as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel your order.

If I haven't started making your jewellery, I may be able to accommodate your request. Accepted change-of-mind cancellations may incur a fee of up to 5% to cover reasonable costs already incurred.

Once production has started, change-of-mind cancellations are generally not accepted because each piece is made specifically for your order.

This does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Can I have my necklace chain altered or replaced if I ordered the wrong length?

Yes, I can help with chain alterations or replacements if you've ordered the wrong length. There may be an additional charge depending on what's needed.

Please email me at hello@runawayrosy.com.au with your order number and the length you'd prefer, and I'll let you know the available options and costs before you send anything back.

What is your return policy?

As Runaway Rosy jewellery is handmade to order and often personalised, I don't accept returns or exchanges for change of mind, including incorrect selections made when ordering.

If your jewellery arrives faulty, is not as described or doesn't meet the consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.

Please contact me if there's a problem with your order so I can help resolve it.

Product Questions

What materials do you use? Is your jewellery gold plated?

I use 14k Gold Filled, 14k Rose Gold Filled and 925 Sterling Silver.

Runaway Rosy jewellery is not gold plated. Gold Filled has a much thicker layer of real gold mechanically bonded to a base metal, making it a durable option for jewellery you can enjoy wearing every day.

What is Gold Filled and Rose Gold Filled?

Gold Filled jewellery is made with a thick layer of real gold mechanically bonded to a base metal. In 1/20 14k Gold Filled jewellery, the gold makes up 5% of the total metal weight.

Rose Gold Filled is made using the same process, but the gold alloy contains copper, which gives it its beautiful warm pink colour.

Both are suitable for everyday wear and can last for years with proper care. If you have a known sensitivity to certain metals, please consider this before ordering.

What is 925 Sterling Silver?

925 Sterling Silver is made from 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper, to give it strength and durability.

It's a precious metal that can last for many years with proper care. Sterling Silver naturally tarnishes over time, especially when exposed to moisture, sweat and everyday elements, but it can easily be cleaned and polished to restore its shine.

What is Recycled Sterling Silver?

Recycled Sterling Silver is made from reclaimed silver that has been refined and reused rather than using newly mined silver.

It has the same composition, quality and durability as regular 925 Sterling Silver. Recycling silver helps reduce the need for new mining and makes use of precious metals already in circulation.

Can you stamp on the back of pendants?

Some of my pendants can be personalised on both sides, depending on the design and available stamping options.

Please check the individual product page or email me if you have something particular in mind.

How many letters or characters can fit on a pendant?

This depends on the size of the pendant, the font and the design you choose.

For example, my Super Tiny 6 mm discs can fit one initial or a small symbol, while larger pendants allow more room for personalisation.

You'll find the available options on each product page. If you're unsure whether something will fit, feel free to email me before ordering.

Does Runaway Rosy jewellery tarnish? How do I clean it?

14k Gold Filled and Rose Gold Filled jewellery are resistant to tarnishing and can be worn daily. Over time, exposure to chemicals, skincare products and everyday wear may affect their appearance.

Sterling Silver naturally tarnishes, but it can usually be brought back to its original shine with gentle cleaning and polishing.

To care for your jewellery, gently wash it with mild soap and water when needed, dry it thoroughly and use a suitable jewellery polishing cloth to restore its shine.

Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners.

How long will my jewellery last?

With proper care, Gold Filled and Sterling Silver jewellery can last for many years.

Your jewellery's lifespan will depend on how it's worn and cared for. Regular gentle cleaning and taking care not to put unnecessary strain on delicate chains and components will help keep it looking beautiful.
